Born to die in Berlin

Last week I got back from my first ever trip to Berlin. I've been wanting to go there for a while and I was really excited to explore the city as I'd heard so many good things. Everyone who recommended it to me was right. Bikes, coffee, culture, street art and dogs; lots and lots of dogs. That's Berlin. And I loved it! Obviously there's much more to it than that but (mainly because I'm lazy) I'm not going to go into too much detail about everything I did there and, of course, you've all been there already, right?

As much as I love Birmingham there are still so many ways in which it could be improved. Berlin is a cycle-friendly city with lots of public open space and greenery. We need that here! But I won't harp on about that too much, I just wanted to share some of my favourite pictures from the few days I spent in my new favourite city.

We stayed in Neukölln in Kreuzberg. Apparently it's the centre of all Berlin hipster-dom but we chose it simply by accident thanks to a cheap Airbnb apartment. It's a great neighbourhood, with independent shops and many multicultural food establishments and bars but its cobbled streets seem to remain relatively quiet, even at weekends.

I've been experimenting a bit with black and white photography lately but not really achieving the results I'd like. Does anybody out there have any advice? Anyway, let me know what you think. Thanks for looking!
